| John grew up in New Jersey and moved to
Michigan in 1989 to study Psychology. His
first Dead show was on August 6, 1974. He
has been playing bass since the 1970's for
various cover bands. These include 4 Dead
cover bands: Southern Drive, Beggar's Tomb,
Mystery Cats, The Warlocks and Crystal Ship,
a Doors Tribute Band that toured up and down
the east coast for years. As well as playing
for Deep Space Six, John can be seen playing
with Bedlam. Bedlam is a Redford-based band
that does 60's British-invasion covers.
For the past few years, John has been studing
bass with Jack Cassidy and has jammed with
Jorma Kaukonen at the
Fur Peace Ranch in Ohio.
